DB2 GSE Working Group meeting on Tuesday 13 December 2016.
Back in the days, systems programmers performed arithmetic in hexadecimal – today’s systems programmers think, "there must be an app for it!"
Let’s face it. There are only eight hours -ok, really 12 or 15 hours - in your work day. There are always new projects to tackle, new fires to put out, new things to be turned off and then turned on. Even the most seasoned DB2 professional needs help every once in a while.
This certainly applies to DB2 backup and recovery. Of course, information on this subject exists, also on the internet - and no apps, meaning some of it you have to look hard for. Creating an app to bring it all together is not going to happen any time soon .
Luckily, we have the DB2 GSE to bring us together to exchange knowledge and ideas.
As usual we have a great mix of users and R&D executives to present their experiences and share their most interesting tips and techniques related to backup and recovery in a DB2 for z/OS environment.
No better way to conclude the DB2 year 2016 than to join us with NVSM/UNMS, BMC, CA and your peers for an afternoon packed with invaluable info about this -sometimes overlooked, but critical- subject.
