Hello CICSbuzz subscribers and happy new year! Welcome to the first edition of the CICSbuzz for 2018. We have an action packed year ahead of us and we are definitely starting with a bang! Read on to find out about new continuous delivery enhancements, the upcoming CICS V5.5 open beta, and the z/OS Provisioning Toolkit V1.1 update. 

CICS continues to evolve with new enhancements and capabilities. Today we’ve announced some great new updates to CICS TS for z/OS which include:

  • V5.4: Enhanced multi-factor authentication support for CMCI and CICS Explorer
  • V5.3: Java EE 7 Full Platform in integrated-mode Liberty
  • V5.1 or later: Support for system rules in CICS policies, the strategic replacement for the CICS system event technology; support for static data on policy events.

We’ve also announced the CICS TS V5.5 open beta, giving you an exciting preview of potential future CICS TS capabilities! This initial release showcases a new GraphQL API for system management, enhancements to CICS Explorer to allow resource query results to be aggregated, new EXCI commands to query and browse containers on a channel, and much more!
